Embarking on a journey to lose weight has been a trans formative and empowering experience. As I reflect on the path I have travelled, I can proudly say that I have achieved my goal of shedding those extra kilos. This essay captures my personal journey and the lessons I have learned along the way.

Setting Realistic Goals:

Setting realistic goals was the first pivotal step in my weight loss journey. I understood that quick fixes and extreme diets were not sustainable solutions. Instead, I aimed for small, achievable milestones that would lead to long-term success. This approach allowed me to stay motivated and focused on my objectives.

Healthy Eating Habits:

My dietary habits underwent a profound transformation. I embraced the power of whole, nutritious foods, prioritizing fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Portion control became second nature, and I learned to savor each bite, appreciating the flavours and textures of my meals. Crash diets were replaced by a balanced and sustainable eating plan that I continue to follow with ease.

Regular Exercise:

Exercise became an integral part of my daily routine. I discovered physical activities that I genuinely enjoyed, such as brisk walks and yoga. Consistency took precedence over intensity, and I found myself meeting and exceeding the recommended 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week. Exercise not only helped me lose weight but also boosted my overall physical and mental well-being.

Staying Hydrated:

The importance of staying hydrated was a game-changer in my weight loss journey. Drinking water before meals allowed me to control my appetite and eat mindfully. This simple yet effective strategy became a lifelong habit that continues to support my overall health.

Mindful Eating:

Mindful eating became a practice that deepened my connection with food. I learned to pay full attention to the act of eating, savouring every morsel and listening to my body's hunger and fullness cues. This practice transformed my relationship with food, leading to healthier choices and preventing overeating.

Sleep and Stress Management:

Recognising the role of sleep and stress management was a turning point in my journey. Prioritising quality sleep and integrating stress management techniques, such as meditation and yoga, allowed me to maintain emotional balance and supported my overall well-being. It was a critical component of my weight loss success.

Support and Accountability:

Having a support system was invaluable during my journey. I found my  workout buddies, my friend karma Wangmo and Choki and connected with an online community of like-minded individuals. Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes with them provided me with motivation and a sense of camaraderie. It was reassuring to know that I wasn't alone on this path.

Celebrate Small Wins:

Celebrating small victories became a source of ongoing motivation. Fitting into an old pair of jeans or reaching new milestones in my workouts served as tangible reminders of my progress. These celebrations reinforced my commitment to the journey.

Staying Patient and Persistent:

Accepting the non-linear nature of the weight loss journey was essential. Plateaus, ups, and downs were part of the process. Maintaining patience and persistence during these challenging times was what kept me moving forward. I understood that the journey was not just about losing weight but about lifelong health and wellness.

A Sustainable Lifestyle:

The most significant accomplishment of my journey is the realization that it's not just about losing weight; it's about embracing a sustainable and healthier lifestyle. I've maintained the results by continuing to prioritize healthy eating, regular exercise, and overall well-being. It's not a temporary endeavor; it's a lifelong commitment to my health and happiness.
